AutoNation Sponsored NTT INDYCAR SERIES Drivers Show Support On & Off the Track

Mar 10, 2020
Each driver is dedicating at least one race during the 2020 NTT INDYCAR SERIES season to honor AutoNation Cancer Fighters and Survivors

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., March 10, 2020 /PRNewswire/ -- AutoNation, Inc. (NYSE: AN), AutoNation, America's largest and most recognized automotive retailer, today announced that NTT INDYCAR SERIES drivers, Alexander Rossi, Jack Harvey, and Ryan Hunter-Reay will each dedicate the AutoNation INDYCAR Challenge, at Circuit of The Americas (COTA), in Austin, Texas to brave cancer survivors or fighters who work at AutoNation. The three AutoNation sponsored drivers are committed to the company's DRV PNK campaign, which raises funds and awareness for cancer related causes.

"AutoNation is extremely grateful to these three outstanding drivers and their teams," said Marc Cannon, Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer at AutoNation. "They may be fierce competitors on track, but they're on the same team when it comes to helping drive out cancer!"

This issue is very personal to 2014 Indy 500® winner Ryan Hunter-Reay, "Sadly, we've all been touched by cancer. I lost my mother Lydia to cancer and am inspired every day to help make a difference in the fight."

2016 Indy 500® champion Alexander Rossi adds, "I'm very honored to support DRV PNK and to drive for those who are battling the disease. This is my first season partnering with AutoNation and I'm proud to help raise awareness and funds for the cause."

INDYCAR driver Jack Harvey agrees, "If I can brighten the day of someone battling cancer, then I'm all in!"

Harvey's first race of the season, the Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg, is dedicated to longtime AutoNation Associate, Harriet Levin, who is battling stage four metastatic breast cancer. "DRV PNK 4 Harriet will be proudly emblazoned on my helmet," said Harvey. "I know she'll be watching the race and cheering me on, but really it's me who will be cheering for her!"

Through DRV PNK, AutoNation has raised and donated more than $22 million to fund cancer research, treatment and awareness.  It also offers a company-paid cancer insurance plan to all its associates and their eligible dependents on their very first day of employment.
