Georgia Couple Wins Chevrolet Avalanche on Anniversary, Claims Divine Intervention

May. 06, 2004

According to traditionalists, the 11th anniversary is celebrated with gifts of steel. Not for Dana and Hershell Fuller of College Park, Georgia. Instead, their gift of steel came on their 17th anniversary, in the form of a free Chevrolet Avalanche from Team Chevrolet in North Point. And in addition to thanking the dealership and manufacturer for their good fortune, the Fullers are also thanking the Lord.

Team Chevrolet was participating in General Motors' Hot Button promotion, a contest where visitors to GM dealerships have the opportunity to win vehicles by pressing a "hot button" placed inside certain showroom models. The Fullers made a special trip to the North Point dealership on February 14th, which just happened to be their 17th anniversary, because Dana had a prophetic dream the night earlier.

"Mr. Fuller put it to me that he had inside information that they would win. I was a little startled at first, but then he told me that God had notified Dana the night before in a dream," said Christine Moeckel, Team Chevrolet's customer retention manager. "Now, I don't know if there was anything supernatural about the way they won, but when you consider that they have five kids, they seem like a pretty appropriate family to win something that big and powerful."

Team Chevrolet, 2175 Mansell Road, Alpharetta, Georgia is preparing to officially present the vehicle to the couple with a celebration at their North Point showroom on May 6. The black 2004 Avalanche with charcoal cloth interior is valued at approximately $32,734.45.
